About me

Bree RichardsonHi and thank you for your precious time. Great to see you! My name is Bree Richardson and I'm the host and Executive Producer of Realities. I'm a gentle, and though sometimes reserved scorpion (Rooster in Chinese horoscope) can also be extremely gregarious, and the life of the party.

I was born on November 1st 1969, the last of nine children. That's right! There were eight girls and one boy, so you will wonder no more where my precociousness and fighting nature came from. I had to learn fast I tell you - to defend myself and to stand up and represent myself. I’m the proud, overprotective mother of a rambunctious 12 yr old boy and we (me, my husband and my son) live on the Island of Anguilla.

Doing Realities

Doing Realities comes as second nature to me having been involved in Radio for a number of years and in several capacities. I have hosted, produced and directed two Radio shows which were quite popular in their respective time slots. Commercial production has also been interesting for me and has been something that I have always enjoyed doing. I have been involved in sales and marketing for such a long time that I’ve been told that I give a sales - pitch when I’m not even aware of it. When I’m behind the microphone it’s almost like something clicks, comes alive, just a warm assuring feeling that reminds me that this is what I truly wish to do. Just a serene transformation…Like stepping into another world - I don’t know how else to explain it to you, all I know is that I come alive when I’m behind my Microphone. The planning and hosting of Realities is proving to be lots of fun, although the work load can be pretty challenging at times.

To better understand why I do this, you should know that for me this is a real labor of love. I love meeting people, I love reading, reading, reading. I love sharing ideas, love a good discussion; not to mention an energetic debate. I love researching stuff. Really I do! Just give me something to research and I will be totally and completely into my element. I also love having fun, (and who doesn’t) I have a fantastic sense of humor, and I’ve always been told from ever since I could remember what a great listener I am.

Oh!

Did I also mention that I love talking to myself? (I try not to answer though, because that’s the definition of crazy right?) Perfect ingredients for a talk show host I think. Now here are a few other things I love which I think you and I will have in common. I love vacations, time off, a good party, romantic times, settings and places. Loves surprising people (absolutely hate surprises myself) Use to love traveling but not anymore-with all the airport hassles, you know what I mean. I still love being in new places and meeting new faces though. I love good food, great friends, and a good wine. I love life, and I love beginnings. I was born on The Caribbean’s Nature Isle Dominica, but there are so many islands that are really close to my heart: Barbados, St.Maarten, Antigua and Anguilla.

I think you can call me a real Caribbean woman. My Caribbean roots are strong and firmly planted. The music, the people, the language, the culture - I am a Caribbean child and will always be too proud to stand up and embrace that unique fact with all my heart. This exotic part of our world; where people are free to live, love, and soca and to dance in the streets with reckless abandonment. I am truly in love with My Caribbean and will do my best to do justice in showcasing our region’s people, arts, culture, history, entertainment, current events and real issues on the Talk Show that you will soon be talking about...Realities.
